A NEW campaign to track down Birkby fire fugitive Shahid Mohammed has been launched in the House of Commons.
Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman has demanded a Westminster debate on the issues of extradition from Pakistan to Britain.
It is thought that Mohammed, who is wanted for the murders of eight people in the horrific Birkby arson attack a decade ago, is hiding out in Pakistan.
Now Mr Sheerman has been told by Leader of the House Andrew Lansley he will try and arrange a debate.
He will also meet Foreign Secretary William Hague to try and get leverage to bring Mohammed to justice.
The suspect fled while on bail as detectives hunted the fire-bombers who struck at a family home in Osborne Road in May 2012.
Police believe he was the ringleader of the gang and that he is now living a new life in Pakistan. There is currently no extradition treaty between Britain and Pakistan.
But Mr Sheerman said: “I told the Commons it was wrong that this man, suspected of such an horrific crime, is free to live out his life.
